Color Crush : Midnight Blue

I love a good navy blue, it's basically a color staple akin to black.
It pretty much goes with anything but can also make a statement all on it's own.

I am pretty thrilled that the color has been scooped up as a trend this season!

Here are some lust worthy (and bargain) pieces I found that
incorporate the midnight color trend for spring!

Trend Setter : Don't Make Me Blush

Pastels are always a trend for spring, but this year BLUSH is one of my favorites!
I am a fan of pink even though I don't wear it often.
A light sublet blush color is such an easy way to rock
a very feminine color tone as it can be paired with so many colors!

Here is some inspiration for styling BLUSH this season...

A fabulous blush top with embellishment brings simply skinny
jeans and accessories, together. Keeping accessories simple lets the top shine.
Perfect outfit for a lunch or spring time drinks with the girls.
A laser cut leather skirt in a blush tone pairs fabulously
with navy & powder blue for a sweet springy outfit.

A blush leather jacket gives a bit of badass to
an otherwise girly pastel tone; paired with chic black accessories
and a great pair of earrings, you are a ready for a night on the town.

How to wear a winter hat... and still look chic!

Let's be real... it's hard to think about being chic when really all you want to be is warm when being forced to go outside in the freezing cold. But seriously, why not rock a cute hat AND still be warm.
Here is my attempt to still look chic while bundling up, definitely not as good as the below ladies, but hey, still learning!

And here are some ladies for your inspiration, who make pretty and cozy chic look way too easy...

The Mane Event

I am SUPER low maintenance when it comes to my hair. And when I say that, I really mean it. I generally only get hair cuts when I get to a point where my hair has gotten sooo long that I can't bare it any longer or when I am having a hard core struggle fest getting it to style like it has any kind of flair aka all the layers and angles are no longer existing and I have a straight up mop on my head.
Being low maintenance though, doesn't mean I'm not particular about the products I use.

My hair is very straight so generally morning consist of flipping my head over and blow drying until it's fairly dry... either using my fingers or a brush if I'm lucky, and then letting the rest air dry if I don't have time to fully dry it. Going out, I generally use a round brush and pay closer care to using the brush to make my hair more sleek and straight.

My hair also dries out a lot in the winter. I LOVE Moroccan oil for a deep treatment. I like to apply it before bed and then sleep with it in my hair over night for a super deep moisturizing treatment [satin pillows beware]. On a daily basis I use John Freida's Brilliant Brunette shampoo and conditioner. I love how this smells and it is pretty conditioning [I swear it brings out my natural highlights too... but that might just be in my head!].

Another thing I use on a regular basis are bobby pins. These things are amazing: from perfecting and pinning stray hairs in place for a but or pulling whispy pieces of hair back for a super easy hair style, I swear by these things.

I always love trying new products though... Do you have any amazing finds you would recommend?

Splurge vs. Steal : Little Red Bag

I LOVE a bag that adds a fun pop of color to an outfit. Sometimes it's all you need to add to a simple outfit to give it a bit of fun interest. Red is one of my favorite ways to incorporate color into an outfit: it's classic, it's chic and it makes me think of those coveted red soles [Helloooo Louboutins]. I loved this SONIA RYKIEL bag when I first saw it but the price was very splurgy. I was pretty excited when I found this great bag from Zara that was so similar but SO much less expensive.
What do you think?
Worth the splurge or better bargain on the steal?

Oh hey, Maxxinista! TJMaxx.com Feature

I have been a Maxxinista ever since middle school when I discovered that I could get WAY more stuff with my hard earned babysitting money at TJMaxx, than I could at any of the stores at the mall. Searching for the best deals was a favorite past time (and still is!); I love 'the hunt.'

I (along with probably many of you) was THRILLED when TJMaxx.com launched this Fall. The site has similar styles and deals online as they have in store and you can 'hunt' for deals anytime you want, 24/7. How awesome is that right? (Sorry bank account!)

The thing about online is that it's similar to in store, if you see something you like, you have to jump on it because you don't know if it will still be there if you take the time to think about it. Oh and the best part... if something doesn't fit or you don't like it, you can return in store. Perfection.
Below I put together some of my favorite finds from TJMaxx.com
Can you tell what is from The Runway and what isn't?
Doesn't it all look amazing!

Splurge vs. Steal : Black Buckle Bootie

I LOVE these Coach 'Leoda' Ankle Booties! The leather is gorgeous and slightly textured and the buckle and leather detailing is perfect. These boots would literally go with ev.er.y.thing. Possibly enough to justify the $345 price tag check them out on Coach.com?

I got SOOO excited when I saw these little cuties that are such a similar style to the Coach 'Leoda' Ankle bootie. These ones are Wanted 'Amarillo' booties and you can find them at Urbanoutfitters.com and guess what... they are only $69!

What does the faux say?

With the impending snow storm and the winter we have had...
perfecting Narnia chic with just the right amount of cozy and
an added bit of chic, faux fur is a great way to get your glam on
while still staying toasty warm. I love this winter look. It's
perfect for hanging out around the slopes or
hanging out on a cold winter day.

2. Sorel Joan of the Arctic Snow Boots
3. Coach Puffer Jacket w/ Faux Fur Hood
4. Wool Infinity Scarf
5. Nordic Mittens w/ Faux Fur Cuff

Splurge vs. Steal : Rockstud Shoulder Bag

I loved this Valentino bag ever since I saw it last season. It's a classic shape, not too big with a hint of studded badass. It was sold out EVERYWHERE soon after hitting stores. I was so thrilled when I found such a great look alike at tjmaxx.com! $2,000 for a bag it WAY out of my price range (and of course, the coveted bag is sold out everywhere), but a similar style for only $15 (It's on clearance right now... click the bag to buy!) ... I'll take it! What do you think?
