Let's talk about stripes baby

 Many people make the assumption that stripes are unflattering if you do not have the figure of a super model. I am going to tell you that this is completely false. As a curvy girl, I once thought this too, but after taking the risk and trying something on with stripes, I was pleasantly surprise that I actually loved the way I looked. I will be honest and say that some stripes can be tricky, but if you stick to some simple rules you will be all set! 

Here are the rules I like to use before buying striped clothing items: 

1. Stick to classic colors - blues and whites and reds make it easier to match with and are more pleasing to look at 

2. Stripe for your shape - what I mean by this is if you are pear shaped or curvier on the bottom, try out stripes on top or if you have a bigger bust try stripes on the bottom. 

3. Pair down - stripes can make a bold statement so I like to pair simple and classic accessories with an outfit with stripes so that the outfit is not too loud, but still makes a statement

Stairway to architectural heaven

 Stairways are beautiful architectural elements that I feel are often overlooked. A staircase can be such a fantastic feature or focal piece in an entry way or and unexpected decor element hidden away. Grand or modest, I think that stairways have so much potential to really help give a space character. Here are some fabulous staircases that I want to share with you.

 After a recent shopping trip where I found the most amazing designer bag (which happened to be coral) I have noticed the color everywhere and it has become a must have on my 'get in my closet' list when I am out shopping. Here is a little coral inspiration to share with you all :)
