First Apartment

In September I moved into my first apartment. Yes I know, it has taken me this long to post about it! Before moving in the place was a little... scary. The person that lived there was quite the messy one and the apartment itself was definitely in need of a little TLC. The potential was pretty easy to see though, if you could get over the clutter, filth and minor cosmetic fixes that needed to occur. Below are pictures of the apartment before I moved in:

It was daunting opening the doors on September 1st and knowing that it was going to be a lot of work to make it look nice, but my Dad (AMAZING Mr. Handman Fixit) and I took the task head on. The first day we gave the entire apartment a fresh coat of white paint while my mom got to work cleaning the place from top to bottom (it had been professionally cleaned before I moved in, but definitely needed a second time over). The pictures below are of what it looked like after finishing on the second day and after moving in the big pieces of furniture and what it currently looks like now after being decorated and fully moved into. (Yes, I do currently have Christmas lights, ornaments and my mini Christmas tree up already!)

My appologies that the lighting isn't the best! There are no overhead lights so all the lighting is lamps. I will post better pictures at some point when I can take them with a real camera and not my cell phone.
